Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma NEW DELHI: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma have received notices from India’s anti-doping body NADA after they missed scheduled doping tests last year. Both players are part of NADA’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP), which means they are required to regularly share their whereabouts and remain available for surprise testing during a fixed time slot each day.According to sources, the two cricketers were unavailable during the scheduled Tests and did not provide an explanation as to why they were missing. This has now led to their first official “whereabouts failure”.

What happens after a missed test?
According to anti-doping rules, athletes in RTP must constantly update their location data so that testers can reach them at any time. Missing one test is considered a warning, but three such failures in a certain period can be considered a doping violation and can even lead to a suspension. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed receipt of the notice from NADA and said it would look into the matter.“Yes, we have received notice from NADA about the missed tests. We will check with them how it happened and take necessary steps to ensure that such things do not happen in future,” a BCCI source said. The issue has gained attention as cricket returns to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, increasing the importance of strict adherence to anti-doping regulations.Currently, 13 Indian cricketers are part of NADA’s RTP list, including Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant.
