A returnee from the Gulf survives an attempted murder, the next day he is killed by his wife and an accomplice

A returnee from the Gulf who survived an alleged attempt on his life after being pushed off the terrace of a building was allegedly murdered by his wife the next day.

The accused, D. Sandhya, M. Anil and Venkata Sai, were arrested by the Nizamabad police in connection with the murder of D. Prashanth (38).

Police said Sandhya allegedly considered her husband an obstacle to her relationship with Anil.

According to South Rural Circle Inspector Suresh Kumar, Prashanth had returned from the Persian Gulf on June 27 after working as a laborer there. Investigators said Sandhya and Anil conspired to eliminate him with the help of Venkata Sai.

On June 29, Venkata Sai, who knew Prashanth, allegedly invited him for a drink. After they consumed alcohol, Prashanth was taken to the terrace of the building and was pushed from the first floor in an attempt to kill him.

However, Prashanth survived the fall and was admitted to the hospital with his injuries. He was discharged the following day with the cannula still attached to his arm after intravenous treatment.

Police said Sandhya and Anil feared that Prashanth would reveal the alleged murder attempt. Sandhya, who works as a nurse, used a cannula to inject sedatives and cleaning fluid directly into his bloodstream, causing his death.

To avoid suspicion, Sandhya reportedly informed Prashanth’s parents that he fell off the bed at home and died.

Police said discrepancies in the family’s version prompted an investigation after the death was reported on June 30. Investigations revealed an alleged conspiracy that led to the arrest of Sandhya, Anil and Venkat Sai on July 1.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
