The Telangana government has constituted four working groups under HUMTA to discuss urban mobility

The Government of Telangana has constituted four task forces under the Hyderabad Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (HUMTA) to strengthen institutional coordination, integrated urban mobility planning, effective implementation of transport projects and adoption of technology-driven solutions across the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area.

The first task force to formulate policy and planning guidelines and promote smart urban mobility solutions will be chaired by the Special Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Secretary to Government, MA&UD Department (HMDA Limits). Its members include representatives of the Transport Department, TGSRTC, HMRL, HMDA, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), GHMC, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC), HYDRAA, HMWSSB, TGIIC, MRDCL, TGSPDCL, TGTRANSCO, Hyderabad Traffic Police, Cyberabad, Central Railway, Fubergy-ana South Railway, Fubergyana South Gas Company and external experts from reputed institutions in the field of urban transport and urban design nominated by the government. The CEO, HUMTA, will serve as a member of the convention.

The second task force, headed by the concerned zonal commissioner, will examine proposals for improving roads, traffic and transportation. It consists of representatives from CMC, GHMC, MMC, HMDA, HRDCL, MRDCL, TGIIC, HMWSSB, TGSPDCL, T-Fiber, SETWIN, South Central Railway, Traffic Police of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, TGSRTC, HMRL, Bhagyanagar, external experts from gas school of urban transport and urban planning company JNAFA, JNA design and a government nominated representative from cycling club. The member representative will be the CEO of HUMTA.

The third working group, Enforcement and Regulatory Committee, chaired by Commissioner GHMC, includes representatives of HYDRAA, HMDA, HRDCL, MRDCL, TGIIC, CMC, GHMC, MMC, HMWSSB, Traffic Police Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, HMRL, TGSPDCL and Southern Technical Experts of BhagarTGSR Central Railway and the Institutions. The Director General, HUMTA, will act as the Convenor Member. The fourth task force on Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) will be chaired by the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. Its members include representatives of IT, Electronics and Communication Department, CMC, GHMC, MMC, Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri Traffic Police, HMRL, TGSRTC, Transport Department, South Central Railway and external experts from academic and technological institutions. The member representative will be the CEO of HUMTA. The government directed all the four task forces to meet regularly and submit their recommendations to the HUMTA Council for the way forward.
