Prince Yadav revealed that he used advice from Virat Kohli against the batting great to produce a match-defining dismissal. On Thursday, May 7, Kohli failed to open his account and fell for two balls as Lucknow Super Giants took on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026 at the Ekana Stadium.

After an outswinger, Prince swung one back at 140.4km/h, pulling Kohli forward before weaving through the wicket and uprooting the off-stump, leaving him stunned.
It was the first time in nine years that Kohli had registered a duck in a run, the previous instance coming against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017 at the Eden Gardens. After the match, Prince shared that Kohli had advised him to stick to the same length when seam and swing are available, a tip he smartly used to dismiss him.
“I spoke to Virat bhaiya after the last match and he just told me – if it’s going to move outside the length, stick to that length,” Prince said afterwards. LSG beat RCB by nine runs (DLS).
PRINCE YADAV STILL Rises
Prince Yadav also dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma to finish with impressive figures of 4-0-33-3. Although he conceded 13 runs in his final over as Krunal Pandya and Romario Shepherd counter-attacked, his earlier spell had already put Lucknow Super Giants in a commanding position.
Prince is currently the leading wicket-taker for the Super Giants in the ongoing competition with 16 wickets from 10 matches, including two three-wicket hauls. He started the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a fielding error that resulted in a boundary, but quickly recovered to deliver a match-defining performance.
LSG kept their playoff hopes alive with the win and ended a six-game losing streak. However, they remain at the bottom of the table with six points and a -0.934 net pace, despite finally snapping an eight-game home losing streak.
The Super Giants will now look to continue their winning streak when they take on the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, May 10.
