The implementation of ‘Sanjeevani’ digital healthcare initiative and ‘Pillale Sampada’ program in Chittoor district received special recognition during the seventh collector’s conference organized by the state government at Amaravati on Thursday (May 7, 2026).
Chittoor Collector Sumit Kumar, who presented the report to Health Minister Saurabh Gaur, explained how the district – particularly the Kuppam constituency – has emerged as a model for technology-based healthcare delivery in rural areas. He noted that the Tata Digital Nerve Center (DiNC), launched under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is successfully implementing a digital healthcare model that connects villagers with expert doctors through video consultations.
Mr. Sumit Kumar said trained nurses and local health coordinators assist patients during teleconsultations and ensure access of health care to remote villages. He added that online yoga classes and counseling support were also provided to pregnant women through the digital platform.
Responding to concerns raised during the review about declining fertility, increasing caesarean deliveries and early pregnancies, Sumit Kumar said the Chittoor district administration would take targeted measures to address the issues through awareness campaigns, improved maternal health services and enhanced monitoring at the community level under ‘Pillale Sampada’ and ‘Sanjeevani’ programmes.
