State Coordinator of YSR Congress Party, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has called for heightened vigilance within the party regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Addressing the party leaders in a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, he urged all the 175 constituency coordinators to have a good understanding of the electoral roll revision process and closely monitor developments at the level to avoid wiping out the votes of YSRCP supporters. He claimed that similar exercises in states like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu had led to widespread voter erasure and warned that restoring the dispossessed voters would be difficult. He stressed that the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) are well trained and work in coordination with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), especially as the pressure on the polling staff is expected to increase. He said a control room would be set up at the party headquarters along with orientation programs to enhance technical preparedness. Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy also reviewed the upcoming state-wide programs on farmers’ issues, hospital visits and Aarogyasri concerns. He urged the leaders to ensure strong coordination and visibility across media platforms while highlighting the party’s welfare initiatives.
