Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy went to New Delhi to secure the Central Government’s approval for the II project. phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail. During his visit, Mr Reddy is scheduled to meet Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday (May 6, 2026).
The chief minister is expected to urge the Union minister to speed up the approval of the II expansion project. hyderabad metro phase. The Telangana government has already submitted a detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed expansion of the centre.
Within the II. phase the government proposed seven new metro corridors with a total length of 122.9 km. As part of the expansion, the construction of 86 metro stations is planned. The total estimated cost of the project is ₹38,595 crore.
Hyderabad Metro Phase I network currently covers 69.2 kilometers. After the completion of Phase II, the total metro network in Hyderabad will extend to 191.9 kilometers.
The state government has accorded top priority to expansion in Phase II in view of the rapid expansion of Hyderabad city, increasing traffic congestion and the growing need for better airport connectivity.
