DC vs CSK Live Score, IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals once again struggled with the bat at home as they managed just 155/7 against Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. On a slow surface that offered help to spinners and slower bowlers, Delhi’s batting line-up never looked comfortable and failed to build momentum in the innings.
The early warning signs came quickly after opener Pathum Nissanka threw away his start while trying to attack Mukesh Choudhary’s slower delivery. Nissanka scored 19 off 15 balls before finding the fielder at mid-on. KL Rahul also failed to convert his start, scoring only 12 off 13 balls before mishitting an attacking shot against spinner Akeal Hosein. Rahul raced around the pitch looking for a big hit but ended up having CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad easily caught.
Delhi climbed to just 37/2 in the over as the CSK bowlers kept things firmly in hand. Hosein’s disciplined spell added to the pressure while the stadium crowd, dominated by CSK supporters despite the away game, made things even more difficult for the hosts. Loud chants of “CSK, CSK” rang out throughout the innings, reminding many of Delhi’s shocking total collapse of 75 in their previous home match.
The middle order also failed to respond. Spinner Noor Ahmad dismissed Karun Nair and Nitish Rana, both of whom fell while attempting risky shots. Captain Axar Patel’s poor run with the bat continued when he mistimed a slower delivery from Gurjapneet Singh and took a simple catch to the cover fielder. At 69/5 after 11 overs, Delhi were in serious trouble.
A late partnership between Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi added some decency to the innings. Stubbs scored 38 off 31 balls while Rizvi remained unbeaten on 40 off 24 deliveries. The duo added 65 runs with some late sixes, but a slow start meant Delhi still ended up with what looked like a sub-par total.
