Mumbai Airport recently announced a temporary closure on May 7. According to the schedule announced by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), the closure will be extended for 6 hours. During this period, both runways will be out of service for passenger and cargo flights.
Due to pre-monsoon maintenance, the flight to and from Mumbai airport will be suspended from 11:00 on Thursday. Both runways will remain closed until 5:00 p.m. This will lead to multiple flight cancellations. Authorities urged passengers to check flight schedules and status to avoid disruption.
The airport authorities announced the runway closures in a message to customers: “Please note that on May 7, 2026, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has a scheduled closure of both runways for 6 hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., due to intensive cancellation of many flights ahead of Monon.”
CSMIA further added: “I request you to check the flight schedule in advance before planning cargo movements to avoid any inconvenience.”
