Justice NV Shravan Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Monday directed the Land Acquisition Officer and Special Deputy Collector of Mid Manair Reservoir to appear before the bench on Wednesday in a writ petition filed by three senior citizens for non-payment of compensation of Rs 19.05 lakh awarded to them.
The judge also sought to ascertain why the police officer refused to accept legal notices served by the appellants regarding the payment of compensation. The compensation was given in 2023 for the houses acquired by the government in Cheerlavancha village in Thangalapally mandal of Rajanna Siricilla district.
