The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) claims that the Congress party won the Davangere South Assembly constituency due to “money power” and “blatant misuse of state machinery”.
SDPI state president Abdul Majeed told reporters in Mysuru on Monday (May 4) that the Congress party had allegedly secured victory by “resorting to electoral malpractices through backdoors and deployment of huge resources. There was direct interference in every constituency and ministers, MLAs and heads of several boards and corporations were deputed to closely monitor the election process”.
