NEW DELHI: Jason Holder sent a strong message to other Indian Premier League teams after Gujarat Titans registered their third straight win, insisting the team is still far from its peak despite gaining serious momentum in the playoffs.Gujarat Titans edged out league leaders Punjab Kings by four wickets in a tense chase to continue their late surge in IPL 2026. But for Holder, the most dangerous aspect of this run is that the team is yet to deliver a complete performance.

Vikram Solanki on GT strategy, pitch and team decisions“So I think we probably haven’t played our best game yet, but you know, the beauty of it is we still get the two points we need every time we get over the line,” Holder said after the game, underscoring the side’s growing confidence.A collaborative effort driving the GT revivalHolder emphasized that Gujarat’s recent success was built on teamwork rather than reliance on individual brilliance.“The beautiful thing about how we’ve played is that it’s not one individual playing every day. Different players come in on different days,” he said. This approach allowed GT to improve scores under pressure, including in their last win when they managed a modest target of 164 on the penultimate ball.Despite the close finish, Holder made it clear that results matter more than margins at this stage of the tournament.“Look, I think the first priority is always to win the game … the first priority is to get two points every time we play and build our momentum,” he added. The tempo attack sets the toneWhile Holder took seven wickets in four matches, he was quick to credit Gujarat pacers Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj for laying the foundations.“Credit to both KG and Siraj. I think they were outstanding throughout this contest… they made it difficult for the opposition,” Holder said.He also highlighted a rare tactical approach that played to GT’s advantage.“Very rarely have I seen two bowlers bowl three overs back-to-back in the powerplay. So that says a lot about their caliber and quality,” he noted, adding that their spells help set the tone for the rest of the attack.Building momentum at the right timeWith three consecutive wins, Gujarat Titans have revived their campaign and are firmly back in contention for a playoff spot. Holder believes consistency rather than perfection will be the key going forward.“We’re kind of on the move … so it’s just up to us to stay consistent. I think the run rate and those things will take care of themselves,” he said.
