Days after the Jammu and Kashmir High Court quashed the detention of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Doda legislator Mehraj Malik, the district administration on Sunday banned any gathering in Doda for two months.
Citing Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which prohibits gatherings of more than four people, District Magistrate Doda Krishan Lal said in the order, “The administration has noticed that some people are allegedly planning demonstrations and trying to mobilize gatherings, which could lead to unusual incidents and disturb public order.”
