Deputy Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister DK Shivakumar said on Sunday that the extensive repair and replacement of all 33 crest gates of the Tungabhadra dam are in the final stages and that the state government aims to complete the work and start the project by the 15th.
After inspecting the ongoing work at the dam, Mr. Shivakumar told reporters that the repairs carried out after the washing out of Gate No. 19 in August 2024 have reached an advanced stage and only minor works remain.
