A commission of inquiry appointed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party visited Sriganganagar in north Rajasthan on Saturday (May 2, 2026) to probe the clash between ruling party MLA Jaideep Bihani and some officials during a public hearing earlier this week. Mr. Bihani was accused of assaulting an assistant engineer.
Three persons, including Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) assistant engineer Jaganlal Bairwy, were arrested following the April 30 incident. Mr Bihani claimed officials slapped him during a discussion about drinking water issues and damaged his glasses.
