Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) legal wing vice-president SK Nawaz has opposed the admission of AG Perarivalan, convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, to the Bar of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, allowing him to practice as an advocate in the Madras High Court. Mr Nawaz condemned the development and urged the Bar Council to impeach him and bar him from practicing law. “We urge the Bar Council to disbar Perarivalan and his enrollment must be canceled immediately. Someone who was convicted of assassinating a former prime minister should never have been enrolled. The Bar Council should have sought the opinion of another advocate general. We condemn it. We hope the Bar Council will reconsider its decision,” Mr Nawaz said, labeling the prime minister a mistake as the former group. he was convicted. We will fight it legally.”
