Ramakrishna Ghosh stepped into the limelight after being handed his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in their highly anticipated clash against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk. Picked up at its base price of ₹ 30 lakh, the Indian all-rounder comes as part of two changes made by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ghosh replaces Gurjapneet Singh in the XI, with CSK also bringing in Prashant Veer for Akeal Hosein. His inclusion comes at a crucial stage of the season as Chennai look to revive their campaign. A right-arm medium pacer and right-handed batsman, Ghosh has built a reputation with consistent domestic performances for Maharashtra. He grabbed the headlines during the Vijay Hazare Trophy when he produced a stunning spell of 7 for 42 against Himachal Pradesh and became one of the few players to take seven wickets in a List A game. This performance put him firmly on the radar. He also showed his skills with the bat. In the same tournament, he smashed a quick-fire 64 off 27 balls against Mumbai, underscoring his value as a lower-order batsman. His all-round ability was further evident in the Maharashtra Premier League, where he contributed impressive cameos, including 52 off 33 balls. Known primarily for his disciplined bowling, Ghosh relies on accuracy, seam movement and consistency rather than raw pace. In the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season, he took 11 wickets in six matches, often playing a controlling role in Maharashtra’s attack.Teams:Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Sanju Samson (w), Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Urvil Patel, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Jamie Overton, Ramakrishna Ghosh, Prashant Veer, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Mukesh ChoudharyBombay Indians (Playing XI): Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton (w), Suryakumar Yadav, Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Robin Minz, Trent Boult, Krish Bhagat, Jasprit Bumrah, AM Ghazanfar
