The Supreme Court on Saturday (May 2, 2026) termed it a “mistake” cultivated Trinamool Congress (TMC) the party to which the West Bengal government service employees owe allegiance and the employees of the central section were loyal to or controlled by the political party ruling at the Centre.
They are government employees and part of it Election Commission of India (ECI) in the performance of their electoral duties at the time of elections.
