Jamieson admits fear of Sooryavanshi (Image: Cricbuzz/x) Delhi Capitals pacer Kyle Jamieson admitted he felt an unusual sense of dread when facing teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as DC secured an impressive seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.KL Rahul led a dominant run chase as Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as they successfully made 226 with five balls to spare.Rahul anchored the innings with a composed ball 75 off 40, while Pathum Nissanka set the tone early with a brisk 62 off 33. The pair put Delhi firmly in control thanks to an opening stand of 110 runs. Contributions from Nitish Rana (33 off 17) and an unbeatable target stand between Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs ensured a smooth chase.Earlier, Riyan Parag played for Rajasthan with a brilliant 90 off 50 as they slumped to 12/2. He shared a crucial partnership of 102 runs with Dhruv Jurel (42) and helped Royals post 225/6. However, on a batting-friendly pitch, their total proved insufficient as Delhi completed their second successful chase of 225+ at the venue during the week.Reflecting on the challenge the 15-year-old posed after the win, Jamieson revealed that despite careful planning, the youngster’s composure made him a daunting opponent.“I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared of a 15-year-old in my life. We planned to go into the game and it was nice to see how it came out,” Jamieson said in a video shared by IPL.However, Jamieson stressed the importance of early breakthroughs with the new ball.“For most teams it’s about getting their top two to the flyer. Starkey got one with a high full toss and I got one with a yorker. It was nice to get those early wickets and stop the flow in the powerplay.”He also spoke highly of sharing the new ball with fellow left-arm quick Mitchell Starc, calling it a valuable experience.“He’s world class. Having someone like him in the team is a huge advantage. It’s come at the right time for us and it’s quite surreal to share the new ball with him.”While Jamieson was able to dismiss Sooryavanshi, his outing proved costly as he conceded 48 runs in four overs. In contrast, Starc produced a strong performance on his return, picking up three wickets for 40 runs.
