A four-year-old boy died of suffocation after he accidentally locked himself in a parked car while playing near his house at Kazhugur village near Kulithalai in Karur district on Thursday (April 30, 2026).
The deceased, identified as Sanjeevi, was the son of Velu (36), a daily construction worker, and Mariswari (30). According to police sources, Sanjeevi was playing with other children in the neighborhood when he got into a car parked near his house. The vehicle was covered and it was believed that the boy had accidentally closed the door from the inside and was trapped.
