Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in Ladakh’s Leh on Thursday (April 30, 2026), will attend India’s first-ever international exhibition of holy relics of Lord Buddha on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
Mr Shah was welcomed by top officials, elected representatives and local residents, many dressed in traditional attire. “He (Mr. Shah) will pay respects to the holy relics of Lord Buddha tomorrow (May 1) on the occasion of 2569th Buddha Purnima. The visit of the Home Minister and his vision for the development of Ladakh will motivate us to work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Ladakh,” said Lieui Vinai of Union-Union Territory.
