Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka of the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)-Hyderabad to extend the visa of Hyderabad-based Russian woman Alena Evgenievna Pavlova on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
The judge also instructed the FRRO not to impose any penalty on her for overstaying as she had applied for visa extension within the stipulated period. A Russian, a linguistics student and holder of a diploma in foreign languages and culture at Russia’s Vologda University, has been actively involved in the translation of Indian literature into Russian since 2018.
