The Tamil Nadu Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TNCPCR) on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) advised the Director General of Police (DGP) to take immediate action to remove video clips from social media that used children as influencers for political gain. He also advised the DGP to initiate appropriate action to remove these video clips from social media.
TNCPCR’s recommendation followed a statement by Tamil Nadu Child Rights Watch, which raised serious concerns about “emotional exploitation of children for electoral influence”.
