Island Cricket has taken a sly dig from Pakistan cricket over claims that 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has AI chips in his bat that have enabled him to easily smash the most dangerous bowlers in the game. The X account even jokingly demanded the ‘AI chips’ used in Sooryavanshi’s bat to help their struggling batting.
This comes after the prodigy lit up the ongoing Indian Premier League with his thrilling battle against some of the biggest names in world cricket. Having already taken on the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, all of whom hit first-ball sixes, the young talent is now fighting for the Orange Cap ahead of veterans like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Heinrich Klaasen and even Abhishek Sharma.
This prompted Pakistan cricket expert Nauman Niaz to jokingly suggest that the youngster might be using an AI chip in his bat to generate power.
“Think about it. What kind of kid is he? Get his bat checked. Like WADA do drug tests, send him to a lab. He probably used an AI chip in his bat. He’s unreal. What a player,” Niaz said in a viral YouTube video. “When you’re 18, your body is building muscles, biceps and triceps. He’s only 16. He was born when Virat Kohli was a world champion. He doesn’t have a power game as much as a technique. He’s a wrist player, and if you look at his arc, he uses a full 360 degree range.” Island Cricket mocks Pakistan over claims of AI chips in Vaibhav Sooryvanshi’s bat (Image from X)
In response, Island Cricket, known for its cheeky posts on social media, asked for details of the AI chips used by the prodigy, sparking a wave of trolling targeting Pakistan cricket online. Some users even joked that Sooryavanshi’s “technology” might not be from this planet, while another suggested that the chips came from the same place where former Australian captain and current Punjab Kings coach Ricky Ponting allegedly got the “spring” in his bat.
Sooryavanshi currently holds the Orange Cap after another sensational start for Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings on Tuesday, April 28. The southpaw smashed 43 off 16 balls before falling to a low full toss from Arshdeep Singh in the powerplay. RR handed PBKS their first defeat of the season and moved to third place in the points table. Sooryavanshi already does becoming the fastest to score 400 runs in an IPL seasonscoring at a staggering rate of 238.10.
The next one will be in action against Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday 1st.
