Godavari Pushkaralu-2027: Kotilingala temple in Jagtial district to get ₹10 crore facelift; ₹ 117 crore earmarked for Dharmapuri constituency
The historic Sri Koteswara Swamy temple at Kotilingala in Velgatoor mandal of Jagtial district is all set for a major renovation, with the state government earmarking ₹10 crore for the development of the shrine.
Announcing plans to develop the Kotilingal temple on Sunday, Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said the government has drawn up plans to develop the historic temple, located on the banks of the Godavari river, by improving facilities for pilgrims and road connectivity to the shrine.
The state government has launched an action plan to develop all major temples along the Godavari river course, including Basar, Dharmapuri, Kotilingala and Bhadrachalam before Godavari Pushkaralu-2027.
He said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has allocated budgetary funds for next year’s Godavari Pushkaral well in advance.
Of the ₹117 crore allocated for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027 related works in Dharmapuri Assembly constituency, ₹8 crore has been earmarked for development of Pushkar Ghat at Kotilingala and construction of road between Kotilingala and Pashigam, he said.
Another ₹ 20 crore was sanctioned for Velgatoor-Kotilingala four-lane road. An amount of ₹ 10 million was allocated for the development of the famous Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple at Dharmapuri.
