Bescom: Tenants will continue to get Gruha Jyothi benefits

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) has clarified that tenant beneficiaries getting free electricity under the state government’s Gruha Jyothi Guarantee Scheme need not worry about the ongoing door-to-door verification that began on July 2.

In a statement, Bescom said, “Many tenants have expressed concern that they will lose the benefits of the scheme due to Aadhaar details of previous tenants linked to their electricity bills.

Bescom has clarified that during the ongoing verification drive, its employees will exchange Aadhaar details only based on current occupancy.
