The Yaakai Heritage Trust has announced the rediscovery of a new site of prehistoric rock paintings in the Nilgiris district.
The site near the famous rock art site at Vellarikombai village in Kotagiri is sacred to both the Irula and Kurumba tribal communities and was reportedly rediscovered by Sudhakar Nalliyappan and Kumaravel Ramasamy during a recent field survey.
