Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) sought the intervention of the central government to deal with the ongoing fuel crisis in the state. The MP formally met Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Delhi on Tuesday and apprised him of the situation. He explained that nearly 70% of the 4,510 gas stations have stopped functioning after facing acute shortages.
While there is no shortage in the neighboring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, Mr Reddy claimed fuel was rationed in Andhra Pradesh, with cars allotted 10-15 liters of diesel and two-wheelers limited to ₹200 worth of petrol.
