After taking the tiger cub into captivity on Monday (April 27, 2026), the forest department tracked down the second cub at Solada village in the northern Udhagai range of the Nilgiris.
On Monday, officials captured one of the two cubs spotted by local villagers. Officials believe the cubs were abandoned by their mother. The cub in custody is being cared for by assistant veterinarians from Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and Arignar Anna Zoological Park, while a decision on the capture of the other animal is yet to be taken.
