On Tuesday (April 28, 2026), a dawn-to-dusk protest by Dalit and Adivasi organizations in Kerala demanding justice in connection with the death of BDS student Nithin Raj at Anjarakandy College, Kannur drew partial response in Ernakulam.
Normal life was not affected in Kochi city and its outskirts, with shops and other facilities functioning as usual. The hartal did not affect the functioning of state and private offices, which recorded regular attendance.
