Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (April 27, 2026) said that central forces will remain deployed in West Bengal at least seven days after parliamentary elections.
Mr. Shah was addressing the rally after conducting the road show she ran where voting will take place in the second and final phase on April 29. The first phase of the 294-member West Bengal Assembly elections was held on April 23. The votes will be counted on May 4.
