Tirumala’s summer footfall has surged as over 4.32 lakh people have given darshan in the last five days

Heavy summer crowds continued at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala during the week, with more than 90,000 pilgrims having darshan on May 16 and 17.

According to temple authorities, more than 4.32 lakh devotees had darshan in the last five days. More than two lakh devotees also underwent head tonsure at Kalyanakatta to fulfill their prayers, with at least 43,000 devotees on average in the last three days.

In view of rising temperatures, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have erected additional pandals around the temple precincts and along Mada streets for the comfort of devotees besides extending the application of white cooling colours.
