Senior Congress leader and Thripunithura MLA K. Babu on Monday hinted that political defeat was behind his defeat in the 2016 Assembly elections, the only electoral defeat he suffered in his decades-long career.
“I lost the election because people around me ‘helped’ me a lot. However, I don’t want to go into details because the matter is no longer relevant,” said Babu. He was speaking at a ‘Meet the Press’ meeting organized by the Ernakulam Press Club against the backdrop of his decision to end his parliamentary career by not contesting the recent assembly elections.
