Caught in a direct electoral battle with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the seven municipal body elections scheduled for May 10, the Haryana Congress on Sunday (April 26, 2026) released its manifesto promising to create cities free of corruption, clean and well equipped with modern amenities.
The party laid out a 15-point plan focusing on sanitation, infrastructure, security and governance, promising to transform cities into “green cities” with extensive green belts, beautified parks and public squares. The roads would be pothole-free, the manifesto said. On security, Congress has pledged to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in cities and strengthen existing security infrastructure.
