The study reveals that the Pichavaram mangrove ecosystem is experiencing “high contamination” of microplastics in fish and crustaceans, increasing ecological risks in the region.
Research conducted by Bharathidasan University and published in Chemosphere examines seasonal patterns of microplastic ingestion in aquatic species.
