Amid a rise in snakebite cases during the ongoing heat wave, the forest department is set to launch an improved version of its SARPA snake response platform, which aims to boost emergency response and reduce deaths.
The Snake Awareness, Rescue and Protection App (SARPA) has played a key role in coordinating snake rescues in recent years, allowing users to report sightings and providing details of trained responders and nearby medical facilities. The platform is also credited with improving response times and facilitating early medical intervention across the state.
