Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly planning to retaliate against Real Madrid for signing Kylian Mbappé on a free transfer last summer.
After years of speculation, Mbappé left PSG when his contract expired in June and joined Madrid without a transfer fee. While PSG avoided paying significant loyalty bonuses, losing one of the world’s most valuable players for free remains a bitter pill to swallow. The controversy persists as Mbappé is now embroiled in a dispute with PSG over €55 million in allegedly unpaid wages.
MARCA reports that PSG’s hierarchy is increasingly frustrated by the ongoing conflict, which they blame on Madrid. The French club is now seeking to punish Real Madrid for their role in the saga.
PSG is reportedly targeting several top talents from Madrid’s academy, with intermediaries working to lure as many promising young players as possible from the Spanish capital.
The two clubs recently crossed paths at a youth tournament in Doha, Qatar, where PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was seen engaging with Madrid officials.
While there is no evidence of rule-breaking by Al-Khelaïfi, Madrid officials closely monitored his interactions to prevent any potential tapping-up of their players.
PSG’s specific targets remain unclear, though they have been heavily linked with young centre-back Raúl Asencio, whose contract runs until 2026.
