Rotary Club of Chennai Carnatic (District 3234) Season 3 Thalir Kala Awards held at Vani Mahal, T. Nagar on Friday saw an enthusiastic participation of young classical musicians. Participants competed in two age groups – under 12 and 12 to 18 – across vocal and instrumental categories, including strings and brass.
Club president Arun Mahadevan said the initiative was designed to inspire the younger generation to engage in classical traditions. “Carnatic music is not just an art form – it is a living heritage to be experienced, practiced and passed on.”
