RR batting coach gives update on his injury. The 15-year-old appeared to be injured when he came on at the start of the second innings. Positioned at covers, Sooryavanshi sprinted to chase down a lofted shot from Ishan Kishan but suddenly rose and caught his right thigh. He struggled to move in apparent discomfort and had to be assisted off the field by the team’s physio, prompting immediate concerns of a hamstring injury.Initial looks suggested a possible hamstring pull, but subsequent indications pointed more towards severe cramps. After spending considerable time at the crease in demanding conditions, the physical strain combined with the intense Jaipur heat seemed to have taken its toll on the young batter.Ahead of the injury scare, Sooryavanshi produced a breathtaking knock, smashing 103 off just 37 balls, including 12 sixes and five fours, at a staggering strike rate of 278.38, one of the most explosive innings of IPL 2026.While providing an update, RR batting coach Vikram Rathour downplayed the severity of the issue:“He felt something in his hamstring but he looks fine now. He’s been treated and he’s doing well. We’ll know more in a day or so, but it doesn’t look like anything serious,” confirmed Vikram.Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad mounted a stunning chase of 229 to beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets, powered by a devastating 132-run stand between Abhishek Sharma (57 off 29) and Ishan Kishan (74 off 31). Both batsmen reached their fifties in just 24 balls, making a mockery of the steep target despite several wasted chances early in the innings.Even after both were dismissed, contributions from Heinrich Klaasen (29) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (36*) ensured that SRH completed the chase with nine balls to spare.Earlier, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the show with a breathtaking 103 off 37 balls, supported by Dhruv Jurel (51). However, his dismissal halted RR’s momentum and their total of 228/6 proved insufficient on a batting surface.
