The hill crop exhibition will be held from Friday

The Nilgiris district administration has announced that the hill plantation crop show will be held at Kattery Park in Coonoor between Friday and Sunday.

The show will be the third summer festival this year, the Rose Show has been held for five days since May 13. The annual flower show at the Government Botanic Garden is currently underway and is scheduled to end on May 28.

Nilgiris district collector Lakshmi Bhavya Taneeru said that the horticulture department had put in a lot of effort this year to organize summer festivals and invited the public to visit the exhibitions.

Another summer event is expected this year – the annual Fruit Show. It is being held at Coonoor Sims Park, although the dates for this year’s event have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, large crowds were seen at major tourist spots in the district, including Pykara Falls, Government Botanical Garden and Rose Garden, on Thursday. Local hotels said they expect to see a significant increase in tourist numbers over the weekend as crowds rush to visit the flower show.
