
A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) driver who attempted self-immolation amid the ongoing strike by RTC employees succumbed to burn injuries on Thursday, triggering tension in Narsampet town as well as Warangal.
The late K. Shankar Goud (54), a native of Narsampet and attached to the local depot, is said to have doused himself in petrol and set himself on fire in front of the depot earlier that day. Colleagues rushed to his rescue, doused the flames and rushed him to a nearby hospital before he was referred to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital in Warangal.
