The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) authorities will conduct an inquiry against those responsible for the reported embarrassment caused by the last-minute cancellation of the edition of Sri Tirthapada Puranam, a biography of Chattampi Swamikal, published by the university after it was found that only four volumes had been printed and were bound while the others were kept in a box.
The book release was included among the programs held on the occasion of Chattampi Swamikal’s Samadhi celebrations at Panmana Ashram on 19 April 2026. Vice-Chancellor (VC) Ciza Thomas, who was invited to the event by the organizers, decided not to release the book after noticing the unfinished work.
The Governor of Kerala, who was supposed to release the work, directed the VC to submit a report on the confusion and take required follow-up action. The VC asked the Senior Publication Officer of the University to submit the documents related to the printing and publication of the work.
