Eight people died on Thursday (April 23, 2026) afternoon when the vehicle carrying them skidded off the road and fell into a deep ravine in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district, police said.
The victims were returning home after attending a cremation when the accident occurred near the Chamba-Koti stretch. Officials said the vehicle fell nearly 300 meters into a ravine. Sub-divisional magistrate Alkesh Naudiyal said there were 10 passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. While eight people died, two others were injured.
