Three more persons were arrested by a special investigation team probing the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) question paper leak scam.
A Thane court on Saturday (July 4, 2026) remanded them in police custody until July 9. A special police team arrested them from Agra in Uttar Pradesh. The number of people behind bars has now reached 10 in this case.
“All the three accused are employees of Mahin Patran Pvt. Limited, a company that got a contract from the Maharashtra state education department to print question papers. These employees are responsible for taking away the paper from the company,” said Pavan Bansod, Maharashtra SIT official.
The names of the employees are: Naresh Puranchand Mahore, Sanjaykumar Sureshchandra Chandra and Babulal Narayansingh Kushwaha. According to investigations so far, the three men were in touch with Bijendar Kumar Gupta, the mastermind of the escape. “These men hid the papers and took them out of the company’s office to hand over to Bijendar,” the official said.
SIT personnel have been deployed in Agra for the past few days to investigate the paper leak.
