Street lights on Container Road will be operational by July 15
All 1,100 street lights on the 17-km Container Road will be commissioned by July 15, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) informed Hibi Eden, MP.
For this purpose, all statutory controls were carried out. NHAI is monitoring the progress of ongoing electrical work on the section. The lights and associated infrastructure like transformers were installed at a cost of ₹10 million, while a pair of high-mast lights were installed using ₹10,00,000 from the MP fund, a statement issued by Mr. Eden said.
The MP took up the matter in the Lok Sabha and also with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The National Highway Corridor (Container Road) provides a direct link from the International Container Transshipment Terminal at Vallarpadam to Kalamassery.
