The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) decided to increase the compensation for acquisition of agricultural land in rural areas to four times the market price from the previous two times the market price, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said.
At a press conference in Bhopal, Mr. Yadav said the move would benefit farmers whose land is being acquired and also speed up the pace of various infrastructure projects, including irrigation schemes, roads, bridges, railway lines and dams. He also said that the cost of no project was reduced in view of the decision.
