After strong opposition from various organisations, including the Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangh, and the timely intervention of Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi, who took up the matter with the relevant authorities, Prasar Bharati withdrew its decision to temporarily shift the Akashvani Dharwad Regional Intelligence Unit to Bengaluru.
On 17th April this year, Prasar Bharati issued order No. 21/01/2026-P-1 regarding temporary shift of workload from RNU (Regional News Unit), Dharwad to RNU Bengaluru with immediate effect.
