Large scale disruption of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus services. were witnessed on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) from the morning, when the workers of the state transport company went through an indefinite commotion. They demanded to be treated as state government employees, citing delay in pay revision and other issues related to worker security.
Over the past few weeks, the TGSRTC workers’ union, which has taken the form of a joint action committee (JAC), has threatened to go on strike if their demands are not met. A strike notice was issued ahead of the uproar, with unionists saying a boycott of the tariff was a last resort after talks with authorities broke down on Tuesday night.
