The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) on Wednesday (22 April 2206) announced the much-awaited rules providing a procedural framework for commissioning Online Games Promotion and Regulation Act, which will also facilitate the creation of an online gaming authority.
Most online games – unless they are real money games, which are already and expressly prohibited under the provisions – will not need to be mandatorily registered or designated, said IT Minister S Krishnan.
