The RTC’s joint action committee talks with the state government and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) management broke down on Tuesday night (April 21), with the former announcing that the labor strike began at midnight leading to the disruption of thousands of bus services.
Trade union representatives who were part of the Joint Action Committee such as Chairman Eduru Venkanna and Clerk Thomas Reddy and the TGSRTC management engaged in closed-door discussions on long-pending demands such as employee welfare issues including salary revision, matters related to purchase and operation of electric buses, merger of employees with the Telangana government and conduct of union elections. However, JAC members said consensus could not be reached.
